Applications The Flemish Academic Centre for Science and the Arts (VLAC)
Eligibility
VLAC grants are for established scholars, scientists and artists who have attained distinction in their fields. Researchers of all nationalities are welcome to apply. Prospective fellows will be judged on the quality of their research and the consistency and feasibility of their proposal. A PhD-degree is a minimum requirement.
Every application, individual or cluster-based, in the natural sciences (biomedical sciences included), the humanities or the arts (visual arts included) will be considered.
The research project must be carried out in the offices of the VLAC.
A stay in the VLAC is not possible during July and August.
Review Process Academy Fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis. Applications will be evaluated by the Advisory Board of VLAC.
Deadlines
Application forms are available at the website www.kvab.be/vlac.aspx or at the VLAC office vlac@kvab.be. Proposals must be received in duplicate, one electronically and one as a signed original hard copy. Proposals can be submitted throughout the year. In view of the evaluation procedure there are three application deadlines: January 1, April 1 and October 1. Applicants will be notified of VLAC's decision within three months.
Applications for clusters should reach VLAC preferably two to three years in advance.
