is seeking candidate for a position of

LOCAL COORDINATOR
National post based in Srebrenica

The Project, financed by Italian Cooperation, aims at enhancing the social - economic sector in Municipality of Srebrenica, and foresees the strong and active support of the Municipal Economic Department.

The main objectives of the Project are: supporting the process of socio-economic development by meeting the institutional efforts made by the Srebrenica Municipality, with a view to an improvement of life conditions through the reprise and growth of all activities in the food-farming sector.

Cesvi, an Italian NGO, has a solid experience of humanitarian work and co-operation for emergency and development in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1994.

This post shall provide direct support to the implementation and management of the project activities within the Srebrenica Municipality. Furthermore, regular visits on the field are foreseen in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Local Coordinator shall report to the Project Manager.

Position start date: ASAP
Duration: 3 months initial, then contract of one year with possible extensions up to the end of the project (April 2012)

Tasks and Responsibilities
• Assist the Project Manager in conducting meetings with local and/or governmental authorities
• Assist the Project Manager and the Team during the regular field visits
• Staff coordination
• Organize field visits and conduct meetings in autonomous way
• Plan and coordinate the project activities with the Project Manager
• Implementing and monitoring project activities, facilitating their timely completion
• Develop and maintaining good relations with the local Counterpart, local Authorities, stakeholders and other local and International NGOs/ Organizations
• Participate in organising trainings and seminars for the beneficiaries
• Participation in staff meetings on current and future activities of the programmes
• Prepare documents and reports on activities on a regular basis
• Make translations from Local Language to Italian/English and vice-versa
• Assume eventual and additional project responsibilities as required by the Project Manager

Required qualifications and skills
• University degree in Social, Economical Sciences, or Agricultural Sciences (other degrees will be considered)
• Minimum 3 years of proven working experience
• Minimum 1 years of proven working experience in NGO environment at mid management level. Previous activities in the framework of development projects (agriculture, food-farming, capacity building) will be considered an asset
• Experience in dealing with the local Authorities
• Willingness to travel within Bosnia and Herzegovina
• Excellent Knowledge of Srebrenica area
• Excellent knowledge of Italian language written and spoken
• Excellent knowledge of English language written and spoken
• Excellent computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet and presentation programmes
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong writing, information synthesis, analysis and compilation skills
• Commitment to the values of the NGOS development activities
• Person who works strategically and is team and goal oriented
• Valid driving license (B category)
